Do any of you know if it is a new computer that comes with Windows 10 - can I downgrade it to Windows 7 or 8? If not what do I do.
This has me concerned because Corel support has been telling me with each ticket that the two are compatible - it even says it in their press release. This morning when I got the problem closing down after I tried to use an instant template - I ran the program for details and it specifically says that x9 is not compatible with Windows 10. I finally checked in the properties of x9 and it says under compatibility that it is only compatible with Windows 8, 7 and Vista. I did do the fix a few times but the issue keeps happening. When I bought x9 Ultimate rather than upgrading from X8 it only had one download (unlike 8 which had the bonus content and one other download in addition to the main download). Thank you to you both for responding to me. Can someone please help me on this because their uninstalling and then reinstalling is not working. I asked them if it is quicktime because my AfterEffects uses a later version of quicktime then corel does for this program and again they said no. Corel says it is not Windows 10 causing the problem because Corel was made for Windows 10. Support has reinstalled my program numerous times and then repaired Boris so it would show up and this works for about an hour and then the same problem again. Each time it crashes it deletes Boris out of my software and sometimes other features as well. If I try to use Corel 3d it corrupts my Corel x9 afterwards where I cannot play anything without it crashing. if I try to import an avi or anything other tha jpg or mov file it immediately crashes, if I try to import more than one file at a time it immediately crashes, if I work with it for more than a few minutes it crashes.

My VideoStudio Pro x8 would not work so I thought something happened with the download to the new computer so I purchased (not upgraded) to x9 Ultimate and still the same problem. I bought a new computer that had Windows 10 on it. I looked and my computer does not have those updates. Someone said to fix crashes go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, click View Installed Updates.

Update 2- The humble windows media player plays my 4k clips smoothly and without problems.I need help with my software because it keeps crashing. Update: Recording in HD rather than UHD (4K) seems to be handled OK, is it somehow the file size of 4K that is messing things up? Subsequently I installed servicepacks 1 and 2, unfortunately in the wrong order as the update in the program gave no indications and I found them online in the wrong order!įurther update I went back to the project and deleted clip 2 just to see if there was some corruption at that point however it made no difference, the same error "Failed on reading Video" after 2%.

Computer is windows 7 home premium 64 bit with core i7 processor and 16 Gb RAM. Playback via the program is showing something like every tenth frame and the playback point indicator skips and judders across - transitions are impossible to view. In addition, despite smart proxy being enabled, playback in the program is VERY broken and out of sync. mov files from my JVC GY-HM170 camcorder so naturally I am more than disappointed. This is the first time I have used Ultimate X9 (after using 7 quite happily). I haven't attempted writing to a disc yet. Another attempt to make an avi file gave the same error but DID convert clip 1 only to the destination folder. My first very short (5 minute) 4k movie attempt fails to render to mpeg-4 giving error message "Failed on reading Video" after 2%.
